When Carolyn founded ALEX AND ANI, she knew the heart and soul of the company had to be based in philanthropy. Taught the importance of giving back at a young age, she grew up experiencing the joy and fulfillment of helping others. She saw how her efforts made a difference and personally committed to giving back as much as possible throughout her life.

In 2011, Charity by Design (CBD), the philanthropic division of ALEX AND ANI, officially launched with a mission of giving back to non-profit organizations.
